Stopped by for coffeeLot's of good food here
Decent food. After eating Tim Hortons for the past few days this is a welcome change.
MoreOrder chicken salad sandwich which I was told had celery, green pepper and mango in it and freshly made. No peppers, mango or fresh bread. Coffee is good.
MoreWe had a very good lunch at the Bean Barn Cafe. We had a cheese and ham sandwich and a bowl of chilly. The quality was very good. The staff was friendly and very fast. Also the interior of the cafe was nice. I can advice anyone to go and have breakfast or lunch at the Bean Barn Cafe.
MoreGreat coffee place on the trail. Good treats!
Stopped here for lunch while driving the Cabot Trail; had the “Fire Maple Chicken & Bacon Wrap”... which was so amazing!! Also had one of the best French Vanilla Coffees I’ve ever had!!! Friendly quick service and great food 👍 BTW, my husband and I both shared the wrap... and it was plentiful!!
MoreOrdered the Parks Canada picnic package with lobster sandwich. Bring it with you and have a picnic on Cabot trail.
MoreVisited CB in early October and stopped during our drive through Ingonish. Cafe had a nice, comfortable atmosphere so we decided to have a bite. Old thyme breakfast wasn't too bad. My scrambled eggs were so chopped up they fell off my fork and the hash browns weren't homemade so a little disappointing. Toast was great, soft and buttery. Good coffee!
MoreGreat place to stop for breakfast....homemade bread and great coffee
Excellent scones and coffee following a 7ml. walk! About the only place open in Ingonish.
MoreGreat coffee and friendly servers...that's all I had
Cute little spot on the cabot trail.
The coffee is rich and satisfying. They also have all day breakfast and it was excellent. The locals seem to love the place too
MoreDelicious food and really good coffee. Great spot for a quick breakfast or lunch.
MoreDelicious coffee and breakfast sandwiches! Safe for COVID-19.
Not bad not good
I ordered the breakfast wrap and my husband had the breakfast sandwich. Both were very good. The staff was friendly and the coffee was good!
MoreGreat small cafe with good home made cooking
Did take out for breakfast. Large portions! Very good.
Delicious oat cakes, great coffee, light banana loaf! Busy spot at breakfast and lunch, but worth the wait.
MoreWe were looking for a place to drink some coffee, the whole Cabot trail nothing found, this a great place with very a nice staff. Great pie's btw!!!
MoreFantastic little cafe.
Must visit place if you are in Ingonish. Loved the Omelette, their Carrot Came is to die for and staff is very friendly. Cash only place. Have all day breakfast. Clean restrooms. Local brewed coffee. Highly recommended.
MoreAmazing homemade food! This place is amazing! They make delicious, homemade comfort food. Large portions. Great place for breakfast. I recommend the baked beans and fish cake for breakfast. It may sound strange to have fish cakes for breakfast but it was delicious! The baked beans were also good. Make sure you get a slice of their homemade pies to go before you get back on the Cabot Trail! The people who work there are so friendly, a good break from the smug, hipster-barista attitude that is all too common in Vancouver.
MoreIt was lovely had beans and fish cakes.. Added some of my ketchup and I was right back home eating my mom's fish cakes. Fantastic coffee.. It's very good.
MoreCouldn't say enough good things about this place. It is one of my most favorite places to stop. Service is awesome. Food is always so delicious and their desserts are out of this world.
MoreHave been here a couple of times for coffee and wasn't disappointed. Stopped today for food and it was a different experience. Line was very long and very slow. Food was good but they made multiple mistakes with our order (apparently 'bacon' in the title doesn't guarantee that the item has bacon and there's no such thing as a panini option, despite what the menu says). Staff seemed annoyed when I raised the fact that our wraps were not pressed and we just ended up eating them as that seemed like the path of least resistance. Will stick with the Rose's and Periwinkle next time we need food.
MoreGood coffee, great food, good portions, Old Tyme Breakfast was tasty!
Cozy little local joint with home cooking. Came for breakfast. $$ prices are good and food was hot and fresh. All made to order!
MoreVery cosy. Great location on the trail for a great coffee.
Nice little cafe, good coffee and the best pie I've ever had!
Best coffee on Cape Breton!
This funky little restaurant is fantastic. The food is always fresh and the coffee is amazing. I have stopped in several times and I am never disappointed with the service or the food
MoreThe Morning Wrap is absolutely delicious. Very comfy atmosphere. As busy as it is, service is remarkably quick for a place that makes everything fresh to order.
MoreWe stopped in just after opening at 7am to have breakfast before driving the Cabot Trail. I ordered the classic breakfast (eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon), and my spouse had pancakes. The food was ready less than 5 minutes and was delicious! There was a long line up by 7:30am, locals and tourists alike. It was delicious and kept us full well into our drive. I would definitely stop in again.
MoreCute little establishment but very disorganized and not the friendliest people
Closed for the season which is pretty odd since we are in peak autumn and Celtic Colours was still in full force. There are still a lot of visitors in the park. They need to update their hours.
MoreExcellent spinach omelette. Good seafood chowder, probably middle of the road as far as chowder available in the area.
MoreHad a veggie wrap which was delicious - definitely would recommend the sandwiches. I had a French vanilla latte and my boyfriend had a basic latte and unfortunately they tasted like hot water. I was disappointed they have machine coffee at a ‘cafe’. The key lime pie also wasn’t the best, didn’t taste very home made and not much lime flavour. If you’re looking for a good coffee/cafe this is not your best bet, but for a quick sandwich/deli it was great.
MoreGreat subs and cookies! Super friendly staff.
Deeelicious breakfast wrap, and breakfast sandwich, splendid coffee, and friendly service!
MoreGreat place. Clean. Great food. Good breakfast menu. Yummy desserts. Only reason for not giving a 5 is the cost of the food. Tourist area so that accounts for higher prices.
MoreBest coffee on the Cabot Trail great staff good food brownies are awesome
Excellent place! Fresh homemade pie and cinnamon roll were delicious!
Says everything is homecooked. Chef Mic (microwave) seems to be in full swing. Salty Rose Periwinkle 3kms away was 100% better.
MoreCashier was indifferent and not knowledgeable at all about the food. Hubby's smoked meat grilled sandwich was good - would not get the turkey bacon sandwich - they use cheap cold cuts u can get anywhere. Very average.
MoreNice cafe. Good coffee and food.
Quite good food, but the wait at lunchtime in the tourist season can be substantial: we waited about 30m for two simple wraps. Having said that, however, there are limited alternatives, and it was pretty much worth the wait.
MoreThank you to the kind stranger who paid for mine & my partner's coffee and snack. Your kindness does not go unnoticed. I appreciate what you did for us.Staff was kind and welcoming. Coffee was great and the cinnamon roll was scrumptious, I look forward to going back!
MoreAtmosphere is nice and the service is great. But the food is not that great. Got the chicken and bacon wrapped, but only got a chicken wrap. Couldn't complain because the place was closing.🙄
